ProductionNet?

As some people in the previous post’s comments have guessed, ResearchNet now features production puzzles!

The editor closely resembles the research puzzle editor, except with options tailored toward creating production puzzles. Instead of the two random inputs and two fixed outputs of research puzzles, production puzzles allow for one random input, two fixed inputs, and three fixed outputs. The planet, reactor quota, presence of a recycler, and allowed reactor types are also customizable, including the option to choose the new “nuclear” reactor, which allows both fission and fusion.

With the release of custom production puzzles I’m planning to do at least one more full volume of puzzles in the Journal of Reaction Engineering, with one or two production puzzles per issue. I’m looking forward to seeing what SpaceChem’s legion of engineers can come up with!

Edit: This update is now live on Steam, and will be available on the Zachtronics Industries store and other outlets in the next few days.

    Who knows, maybe he’ll ship boss level editor!

    So, is the update available via the “Update Now” link in game yet? Because it’s offering it to me when I run it, but when I try the link is saying “Invalid”.

    Really hoping Steam is not the only way, because I don’t use Steam, it simply takes TOO long to do anything.

    Once is a bug.
    When it happens during update attempts for each new version? Something is clearly stinky with the link system used.

    @Karie: How were you able to update before? This is a new bug to us, so if you could email me (zach@zachtronicsindustries.com) it would help us greatly in figuring out what is going on!

    Clearly the bug is in your link system. All those generated numbers and letters. And they don’t sync up with your website.

    Why don’t you just use a direct link?

    Seems like it’d save you so much hassle.

    As for myself, when the support singularly failed to respond, and I got no help on IRC, I used another source to download an updated version.

    @Karie: If you respond to my email with the key that you’re using to play the game and the link that the game is giving you I can tell you authoritatively what the problem is.
